I can't think that in my 48 years of living up north that I have ever seen any mistletoe growing on a tree.

Maybe I'm going to make my millions in a few years.

Damn stuff has completely killed 3 apple trees and is steadily spreading through the trees along our mill race.

I know of a few trees with mistletoe, but it isn't common in the south and south east.

Well. We have tons. If anyone wants, I’m happy to spread my seed around.

As it were.

We have loads in poplars about 30 minutes north, but havnt seen any where we are in S Dordogne. I did buy some and tried the berries last March but nothing.
The gypsies stand outside the supermarkets here the week before Christmas selling it for 5 euros for a tiny sprig. No one buys it - they hate the gypsies here.

Here's an update on the mistletoe Nick kindly sent me last year. I'm very excited that some has taken.

Thanks again Nick.

How far up inside an apple tree does mistletoe grow.

Never managed to to grow from seeds, but got some apple branches to graft, about 25mm dia. Top worked an old apple tree.

But wondering if normal pencil size scions off the apple tree would have the mistletoe inside it ??

Anybody tried

Never tried but our old trees are riddled with it. Old cider orchard. If I can cut a length of branch with some growing from it and send it to you, let me know. My worry would be that the mistletoe would grow too fast and consume the appley goodness before the apple settled into its new home.

How far up? One the trunk becomes branches, it’s there.
