Poodles often have been shorn with longer hair round the ankles end or tail and on top of head. Can't think why people shear some other breeds though, as they moult anyway. Husbands parents had a toy poodle many years ago and every time it had a hair cut (no particular style) it always gave itself airs. Quite a character as it would see off far larger dogs if they came near 'its' people.

Poor dogs.

None of them look amused, I have to say.
