i am babysitting a young basenji, learning to let insects do insect stuff matters in a cloud of bees and wasps, quietly watching birds is good, ignoring the mouse doing mouse things a meter away from the chap she is tied to is ace
these are built for stealth work, with the right direction as youngsters they could get very good at it
if this one is typical of the breed i can see why they have lasted as a dynasty for at least 4000yrs
awesome hearing, good vision, fairly quick, strength, stamina, small enough to carry big enough to grab and distract or chase something about, probably a live catcher for owt bigger than a baby bunny
as to sneaky potential, this one has a lot of promise
sd and sil did not quite understand when i said i could teach her to be stealthy
ten mins after i started to write this i took her in my arms to observe 2 mice up close, she was very focussed and excited but kept it quiet, the mice were only a little surprised and just got on with mouse stuff after a rapid hide and decide
and
another even more intense 5 mins, 9.5/10 this beast has promise, a natural at it, with some direction she will be quality and will surprise them
oh dear, she will have a slightly different skills set to the yellow hell hound, but one built around her nature will be interesting.
i gave her back, sil does not quite understand how different she is, yet |
