As far as I know, you've got to have Adode Acrobat installed (the reader is free, but you have to pay for the builder) and then you can deconstruct whatever it is you're doing.

There are adds coming up for a PDF extractor and free building software, either of them any use?

I've got the writer half of the programme (the bit you have to buy) and there is an option to cut selected areas out of the doc, the 'graphics select tool' which can then be pasted eslwehere and saved as a picture.

I tend to use ALT-PRINTSCREEN and paste into a photo package.

I think you can secure your pdfs so that people can't edit them or extract images, so that might be the problem requiring Jemas solution.

I use a free pdf making program call 995 or something - it's at work aso I'll have to confirm tomorrow if that doesn't sound right - it's very goos, I'd recommend it.

I know the documents are pretty and more printable, but I have never really understood the point of using pdf rather than html

Pdf995 converts the whole page to a jpg etc, I've cropped and resized the image to the required size, i assume i need to upload it somewhere now for it to be useable in an article?
