I've got a compost bin in our garden - it's not a posh composter, I just put some large holes in the bottom on one of my old plastic feedbins (to enable worms to get in), drilled some holes up the sides, for drainage and ventilation). I try to layer the 'ingredients' Kitchen waste (veg peelings, tea bags, etc)., that will break down goes in it, I shred newspaper and so on and er, we have added some human urine. When lundy has trimmed the grass, that has gone in as well.
Mine seems to be doing ok, it's been on the go about 8-9 months so far - only problem is turning the lot out.
There's bound to be some expert on compost out there. |
