Well, it's taken 18 months and three applications, but we finally got planning permission yesterday. It's only outline, and it's to be seen what conditions they place, but we can build something and that'll do us.

So, for anyone else who's been told that they have no chance, keep at it and gind the b****** down!

now the fun really starts!

Can you give an outline of what you've got planning for and the type of site?

Aled,
Well done! There is nothing like knowing you'vefound the right spot and can live on it too!!!

Where abouts are you, there are some beautiful areas on Anglesey - happy memories (not just Holyhead too)

Luckily it's not in Holyhead! We're in Cemaes Bay - the most Northenly village in Wales (and it's certainly felt it with the cold wind of last week)!.

Our plot is now actually partly in my parent's garden. It's at the corner of 5 acres of land that are currently let to a local farmer. Once we've built, though I'm hoping to make use of it myself. We originally tried to be a bit further away from my parents house(application 1) but that really was a definite no chance from planning. I'm sure we'll be able to make a lovely home were we are, though.

Well done to have overcome the planners, now you can get going

Wish me luck, we're still trying to get over to them exactly what we want to build (in order to establish what we need to apply for)- how come is it that unless you wish to build a housing estate or a supermarket they are completely flummoxed Some of them can't even the forms when you do fill them in.
