I quit! What have I done wrong this time? Last year my strawberry plants just died off. So I bought a new batch of plants this year and they have turned out beautfully healthy with lush leaves but no flowers or any sign of any fruit.

I have 12 of them growing in a huge tin bath with copper tape around the top to stop the slugs (it's worked).

I have them in a mix of soil and compost but haven't put any fertilizer in with them, is there anything I should use that will boost there production?

i've had a few small ones but it is only now they are putting out serious amounts of flowers.
Hows your watering? mine are in a grow bag and until i put in 2 two litre bottles with the bases cut off to get the water in they seemed a but slow. now they are getting 8 litres of water a day into 1 grow bag and comfery feed once a week and they seem to be coming on nicely

Oh my word! That much water? Looks like I should have planted them in the bath instead of a bath tub then

it is a bit hot here at the moment, i normally fill up the bottles in the morning anfd then again at night although it doesn't seem to matter if i miss a day everynow and then.
I cant see water running out the bags but as it only feeds into the bag slowley it is not likley that i would.

P.S. i have 13 plants in the 1 growbag and this is their 2nd year in it, as well as strawberrys forming i have got 3 runners so far this year and hope for 6 or so more by the end of the season.

My strawberries are disappointing this year.

When I moved to the last house, my plants all died (they were in bin bags too long) so I bought some more and put them in pots. When I moved here, I kept them in the pots as they were getting on a bit. I have never had much fruit, but it has always been very tasty.

Last autumn, I made a new bed and bought two new varieties. As I'd got some space left I planted up some of the runners that had come from the old pots.

All but three of my new plants died, but the runners have shot up. However, the new plants have hardly any fruit and the ones from runners do not have that much and what they do have is tasteless.

The most embarassing thing is that Terri has been buying strawberries from the supermarket and they are tastier than mine.
