This is the most amazing tool. Not pretty, but seems to work:

https://validator.w3.org/checklink

you whack in a URL and it checks the links work! Have just tried it on a page where I know there's a broken link and it's spotted it so it seems to work.

This could be extremely useful for anybody who has a website but esp ours with all those links in articles.

Yep...I did it on one of ours. Eeek. Very interesting results though, you'll be able to make much more of them than I do.
