please can anybody let me know if clubroot can be controlled or eliminated from the soil as i am having trouble growing any type of brassica's i know it only affects brassicas and wallflowers somebody told me if you have got clubroot in your garden move because it takes ten years or more too clear and the land has too be dormant for that period nothing can be grown
There's some letters into this month'e kitchen garden mag about this and the general consensus was- live with it - but....
good hygeine, dispose of diseased plants in the bin or burn, not on the compst (oops )
use plenty of manure and build up your soils overall health
don't accept plants from other plots
lime before planting
sow in pots and pot on until a 5" or even 9" pot is needed then plant out in a limed hole. This give the plant a head start to develop the roots and overcome the club root.
