hi can any one offer advice on digital cameras i am only looking for somthing simple that i can down load to the computer just a decent pic and no gagetry for around the ï¿½100 mark any advice welcome john

i'm not going to start listing cameras for you but since you only want web pics there's a lot of choices for you. i will suggest though that get a camera with a memory card and buy a USB card reader so you can just pop the memory card into the card reader and you easily access your pics by selecting the drive in "My Computer". (hooking up your camera to your computer and downloading them onto your comp is a real pain in the butt) also, you can buy extra cards so your picture taking is only limited to your battery power.however, if you find that you will want to print out your pics,go for at least a 3+ MP count.

I don't know enough about digital cameras to recommend brands. But try to get somethin with a decent optical zoom. Actually just try to get something with a decent lens. A camera made by a camera-maker is probably a better bet than one made by someone who primarily makes other stuff.

All I would say is read the reviews. It is easy in this field to quote an impressive spec and price, but what matters is the real quality.

I've always bought fuji, they seem a good combination of spec and price.

Our current one is a Finepix S3000, with x6 optical zoom and 3.2 megapixels which we find excellent.

Got it from www.7dayshop.com for ï¿½135.00. The new version is the S3100 which is ï¿½159.00

The do have a fuji A340 zoom with x3 optical and 4m pixels for ï¿½105 inc vat HERE which looks pretty good although you will need to get a bigger memory card, but that's usually the same for all digital cameras

Hi John, we have a Fuji FinePix1300 and have had it for a couple of years. The pics on my web site have all been taken with it and for getting picture on the web it's fine. It has 'only' 1.3 mega pixels. I don't think they make it any more, but some of the cheap Fuji's would be worth looking at. What do you want to take the pics for?

I have Fuji Finepix 6900zoom, and think it is a fine camara. Possibly a bit bulky for casual use, but will certainly do anything you might reasonably want from a camara unless you want to print at A3.

Yep, I have a fuji one too. Its also a finepix one and it works really well. Totally recommend it.

It is worh a look at the fuji site www,fujifilmestimateservices.co.uk they sell factory conditioned units at good prices with fuji warranty.

Just under the header bar is a 'refurbished cameras' link. They don't have many, but they look like good value coming as they do direct from fuji technical dept.

Fuji are bloody good you know - I just sent back one of my S2s as I was having a slight problem with it swithcing on. They acknowlwdges reciept within hours of getting it, they had an estimate withing three days, and the repair charge (ï¿½80.50) include replacing damaged battery contacts, a full service and a full 12 month warranty on the whole camera. Now that to me is good value for money!
