I notice that kenwood chef pasta attachments seem to be a mincer with a hole plate.
I wonder if you could put the dough in an ordinary mincer with a hole plate and produce round spaghetti.Might have to try that for tea tonight.
We have made ravioli using the pasta machine to make sheets and then a specially made tray (looks like a shallow ice cube tray made of metal). You lay a sheet across it, push the indentations down, dampen, fill em and lay another sheet over, then roll them together with the rolling pin.

Hmm. Perhaps you could use a potato ricer as well? I quite often mince some butter through the garlic crusher to make a little garlic butter (ooh, a top tip!) because it softens more quickly, and it makes such purty golden strands like hair...ricers are just big garlic presses, aren't they, and pasta dough is quite malleable.
Failing that, what about those children's toys you fill with plasticine and squeeze to make hair?

When I got my mincer it came with plates for spagetti, linguini and twisty-ones (not called fussili, but damb similar looking)
Pasta might be a bit thick using a ricer, and you'll need strong hands to force it through.

Good point. I'd have to wait til strong hands got home
He tells me our pasta machine has a cutter for linguini so that'll do me. Bang goes my excuse for having a ricer though!

I reckon you'd have been on a hiding to nothing with the ricer; the dough is just to sticky. However, saying that I've just realised that the Germans make spatzle with a similar utensil, but the dough is wetter.

I'm not exactly amused with Argos!! Bought my pasta maker this morning and got it home only to find it had flour inside. I don't mind going to to boot sale and paying a reduced price for a secondhand item but I do object to paying full price for something which is supposed to be new but turns out to be second hand!!
Someone help me, I need a fag!!!!!

Resist the urge to have a fag. Go back to the shop, ask to speak to the customer servises manager and beat him around the head with the pasta machine. Then state that you don't mind having a bit of flour on something you've just bought, but you do object to having blood/hair/teeth on it.
