I am doing a wine making primer, and certain aspect of wine making go beyond what I feel the scope of a primer to be. I have done seperate articles therefore on the hydrometer and dealing with stuck ferments, but I do not deel to competent on the clearing front, as I have been such a long time out from serious wine making. jema

My own way to clear wine is merely to be patient. As I've never used a filter, it'd be a bit presumptious for me to write such an article. Do we have any people here who -ever- filter their wine?

Used to, but can't remember much about it at all

I almost took the plunge and got a filter set up when a batch of dark mead wouldn't clear a few months back. In the end some egg white left over from making custard did the job really well. Of course, the better half felt hard done to that she didn't get any meringue...
