Someone told me you can start parsley really early?

STILL waiting for my pepper and chilli seeds to do something, 2nd attempt on bathroom window sill above radiator, 2 weeks and still no show?
Planted leeks and parsnips at weekend, in seed trays.
Think id better get digging on the allotment to get some soil ready for them !

Planted my peppers and chillis first of Feb also, they are now about 2 inches high, in the greenhouse.

Planted Beetroot and dwarf french beans in seed trays on 11 march and put them in the cupboard under the stairs which is full of hot water pipes and by the 13th i had 22 beetroot ( out of 30) and 9 dwarf beans (out of 12) the others might still come through but they are on a window sill above a radiator now. I couldn't beleive how quick they shot up.

Parsley will only readily germinate in a household where the woman wears the trousers (so to speak), so maybe that is the problem. If not, water the drill with boiling water, put in the seed and cover immediately. Parsley can be sown just about any time of the year, especially if you use hot water and a heated propagator.

I planted moneymaker tomato seeds on the window sill, the packet was 3 months out of date and after 3 weeks had nothing tried them again and still got nothing are they slow or dead do you think ?

Hi folks -
Remember, I am the novice.
Just to let you know that a couple of weeks ago Lundy and I sowed some leek seeds and cucumber seeds. All look very good (have only lost 1 cucumber which looked a bit 'stilted') rest are all doing well on the kitchen window, got the leeks in a mini propagator, have some onion seeds which have made an apperance 3 days after been sown.
Think I have boo-booed - I put some carrot seeds into a couple of seed trays which have all done really well, concerned now about transplanting, cos at the minute it looks like I was sowing lawn seed. Anything I can do?
Have just sown some pepper seeds, have some runner beans, courgettes have lots more to sow but when I look at the details on the pack or check the books they are suggesting late March/early April.
Will have to start putting stuff on other windowsills at this rate.
Sound dead to me, but on the bright side, now you can grow something more interesting than moneymaker - I read the other day on TKG forum that they are very slow compared to other varieties to ripen/harvest. Grew some last year having free seed and was unimpressed.
runner beans and courgettes can definitely wait until April (some squashes/melons until May ...but with your probably shorter season, I don't know whether that would work?).

I have plenty more things to grow, I was just working my way through slighlty older packets first trying to get the most out of them ! I'll move onto squash and get it started instead !

Yup... https://www.kitchengarden.co.uk/forum/default.asp ... absolutely horrific way to run a forum, but some very interesting contributors and I pop in occasionally to see if there's anything interesting. It's a lot quieter than here (so don't forsake us!) and obviously more specific, but definitely worth keeping an eye on.
