Anyone else like them eye wateringly hot? I have managed to lose a child for the weekend, which gives me an excuse for a killer vindaloo

ooh yes, I must confess to a liking for dangerous food. Like it mild and creamy too, but hot has a very special place and someties just has to be done

Hmm, we have a similar thing with chickens. You don't even have to listen, just go in to the kitchen and slice some bread, or clink a plate, and they come running. I imagine that's not too dissimilar with children

Not big on "macho curries" but then I'm not very macho. TD can take more heat than me but I like lots of garlic and other flavours, plus some heat, and I love having a variety of foods to pick from - vegetarian thalis are the only thing I miss from takeaways, really, I can't be bothered to make more than two dishes at one go. I wish we knew more people who can/do (more the latter, really) as it would make sense to have dinners where each brings a dish or two to heat up and share around.

I think we might be having nettle aloo this weekend though

I am in to making a lot of dishes at once, I like that kind of "catering" experience, juggling lots of things at once.

My big fault though is I like to play with dishes to get them "right", so I often feed the family some of the same dishes 2 or even 3 days running

Today will probably be only rice, vidaloo and kashmiri spinach.

No, I am a big girl's blouse when it comes to chili. I'm off to light the barbecue in a minute, hurrah. Steak, merguez, garlic mushrooms etc. Sorted.

They have to be the right heat. Today's Hot Thai Special from the Wrestlers at lunchtime was really quite hot. Lets just say I'll expect to know when it when it's on it's way out... Samba I like hot, but korma must be creamy and mild with chilli flavour not heat, IYKWIM. Beth

This one was a killer Too damn hot by sane culinary standards, but a very nice change. Even I had to take a drink of water with this one though.

Something with fat is better, but at least with water you are replacing the sweat

Nope - if you enjoy them, I'm glad, but we try hotter than we'd like (as cold cures!) and found them similar taste, just hotter, no extra flavour, just slightly uncomfortable mind you, some people say that about the way my lemon curdmakes your tongue tingle. Wouldn't it be dull if we were all the same!

I have to admit to loving a good hot curry. there's nothing like getting the sweats. I personally think that chilli is addictive.
