Here is a link to the new site from the food standards agency that is planing to grade all food businesses from 1-5 on the basis of their last EHO inspection so you should be able to check if you local chippy is clean and if the 5 star restaurant is as good behind the sceans as it is front of house.
Not sure if its working properly yet and not all the links are up but its certainly one worth watching

The scores are only based on the next inspection though.
We have been sent a "not inspected yet" sticker.

As somebody who cooks up to 10 breakfasts every morning I had a look at the site. Not many entries. Was not impressed.

And, rather strangely, Torridge has moved to the South East.

Does it give a rating based on how many contain the cook's spit, tho?

Good heavens! We've been moved! So is Cornwall now an island?

True but its just coming into being, I was informed about 18 months ago it would be happening and so as each food business is inspected it will be given a star rating and then posted until every food business that is inspected by the EHO is there for you to check.
It will only get bigger and more comprehensive as time goes on

They've been implementing that here - its quite interesting the eurgh factor of places that look ok from front of house, and being proved 'right' that the 'greasy spoon' down the road is actually perfectly OK (nay gets excellents for everything)
