... is a member of the borage family, along with comfrey and borage, anyone know if alkanet is edible? So invasive but makes great compost!

Well mochyn says its poisonous in the 'Whats this' thread and I've never seen it eaten in my wildfood books so best not.

I've been told that it's mildly toxic. It also doesn't taste too good. Which is a shame really, 'cos it's such a resilient weed in my garden!

Mine too. I had trouble distinguishing it from foxgloves when i first moved here and let it grow, to my cost!!!!!
