I am new to this and suddenly saw this when i was walking to my car across the car park at work, In the middle of Newham, that built up and congested London brough,
This is a morrel isnt it?
there are a few different types of mushroom growing and I am going to try and take some pictures but I found this one hard to beleive. There are no trees around whatso ever but we did lay a mulch of bark at the end off last year.

It looks like 'em, but I've never seen one in real life. Bark chippings in towns etc is one of the places they recommend you look.

Very true but it wouldnt do my reputation as a chef much good would it.
( and as a side note I hate mushrooms and threfore before joining downsizer would not have looked at a shroom therefore have no idea of what they look like, its my OH that loves them and I dont fancy 25 years for poisoning)

Hmmm... Morels. Growing by a carpark, probably on or about some woodchips? Very nice.

Hard to be entirely sure from the pic, but they look like Morchella elata, which ain't bad but perhaps isn't the most sort after of the morels. Console yourself with the fact that stewed down with rabbit they're bloody great.
