It's not a challenge as such, more a plea for help.

The blog post is Here. And the pertinent bit is:

Quote:
I also need your help. Every Christmas I send a parcel of gifts to the women in a refuge managed by another friend and this year I want to send scarves. Now I could just go and get some from a shop, but how much nicer would it be if some of my readers here could make them? Ill need 10 for the refuge Im currently supporting but if I can manage more then maybe I can extend the idea further afield?

Any knitters out there who could help? If my knitting lessons go well then Ill make at least one!

So far I have pledges for 4 and maybe's for another 2. Scarves to be sent to me (pm if you need my address or look Here) I'll make sure they're wrapped in Christmassy paper and sent of to my friend who is the refuge manager.

I'm looking at it like sending a hug to someone who needs it.

Thanks! I am inspired to add finishing the scarf to my list of UFOs for September and pledge to send it to you, Soapnutter. I like the idea

Soapnutter that pledge deserves a separate thread for other knitters who may not look in this one cos its a lovely idea ( does it need separating, mod friends?)

I cast one off yesterday that you can have if you want - just give me a day or do to weave the ends in and do the join more neatly and it's yours

I don't know if if this is of any help to any one - I know most of you could probably knit scarves in your sleep.

Two scarves coming from here. And if we get more than ten pledged, we can make up a parcel for another refuge.

That's a great link, Jamanda I may have a go at making deliberate/intended holes in my next scarf

I'll knit one - I'm sure I have a scarf half finished hiding in a bag behind the sofa! I started knitting it for myself even though I don't like anything around my neck.

When would you like them by? I'm not very good at deadlines, but I'm sure I could charm something up over the next few weeks or so.
