And here we have fog Its supposed to brighten up for the afternoon though - here's hoping! Now, I really should get loads of baking etc done this am, so I can enjoy the afternoon (if it happens......)

same here viking chick..........................warm or clammy as we say but foggy! Was up early and have just pegged two really long lines of washing out to dry. As I pegged the last T-shirt up hubby said " It looks like rain !!!!!" Where ru?

Hurrah - I bought a parasol yesterday (not a sun person, me - big hats and shade!) so I can hide under it all day. I was finding that I was spending lovely days inside, cos it was too hot out, and we have no shade in the garden.

It has been a fab day here, and we have discovered at least 20 holes in the paddling pool, that obviously wasn't put away very well last year

MUCH too hot for decorating~but when you only get every other weekend off you can't pick and choose when it gets done! Very hot round here, great if you like that kind of thing

The pig sorts himself out these days .... he loves to bathe in the mud then come evening he spends his time scrubbing all the mud off on the walls of his hut. I can't see the hut lasting long if this continues ... he really rocks the place

Oooh it's been so lovely - I've had a fab day pottering around the garden, having neglected it in favour of the allotment for a while. I can finally get onto my patio, having at last shifted all the pots of herbs to the far end of the garden for a while (I've been meaning to do that since March!!).

The thermometer said 38 degrees in my greenhouse

I've made up about 5 litres of elderflower cordial and bunged a load in the freezer, should keep me going till next year. And of course I've been to the allotment like the good girl I am, picked some lovely peas and scoffed the lot raw, before I even left, and came away with nearly half a pound of alpine strawberries (my back's killing me!!!)

Ours read 41 when I got up this morning .... and it just kept getting hotter from then. We didn't dare re-check the thermometer later but we havn't got alot done as it has been too hot here.

It is OK when you are here for the hols but hard work when you ain't!

Yep, been working on the cottage out back all week. It should be done in a couple of weeks and then guests will be welcome throughout summer. All you have to do is find your way here - it's about 8 hours from Calais. (map by PM)

Methods of payment: Heinz baked beans / Dow Egberts coffee / Sosmix / Wilko homebrew kit / I could go on a bit ....

We had a Church BBQ yesterday at the football ground. At 3pm the temperature was 38 with too little shade. It was too hot to do any work anyway. I was wearing a pullover last week.

that's the worst of it really you never know.................... my kitchen was 80 degrees before the sun got on it on saturday by 4.30 it was nearly 90 so butter wouldn't come (have put the cream backin the fridge) and it was a clear case of salads for the weekend with anything on the barbecue (sorry normally only do proper temperatures)

For 11 1/2 months of the year, our lounge needs the woodburner on to bring it up to a decent sitting temperature. This weekend, though, those bare stone walls have saved my life.
