Hi Folks,

I'm having a difficult time detaching the hood from a Bee Basic beesuit.

https://www.beebasic.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=4

Does any one know how to detach the hood on this so that I can wash it ?

I've spoken to the makers, and they've confirmed the hood is detachable.

You may already know this, but beware of perfume in whatever you use to wash it, it can make the bees very cross, (with good reason, I reckon ) so rinse well.

Umm. She told me to make a cup of tea, sit down and undo the hood with patience.

I think she may have give me the Women's Instructions for doing this. I'll have to ring her back and explain I need a more basic set of instructions.

On my astronaught bee suit, different one in their range you just carefully unzip it round.

they need regular washings. If you've been stung on the suit even if it didn't get through then there is chance of a a pheromone being left that will make you very likely to get stung again.

Has the zip got stuck somewhere then?

Soap nuts? They're pretty much odour free.

That's the kind of no-nonsense thinking I am trying to develop.

Yes. I now pronounce my bee suit clean enough not to require any more fiddling with the bloody zip.

Thank you.

Could you sponge-clean any bits that were dirty, or where you got stung? I just bung ours in the washing machine with washing soda, though.
