It felt like a proper coming of age right of passage type thingy, as its happening in the winter and around my birthday. so it felt more significant than otherwise.

Well done Gent! Went on our first one on Saturday - was a stop - didnt see much of the action but our Springer retrieved her first pheasant from a small lake - was I proud!!

I went out on Sunday to accompany my friends doing some rough shooting. The first time I've been out with La Chasse. We saw very little - one woodcock and a hen pheasant.
But we have a nice lunch of Pheasant and now I can tell the difference between roe deer poo and sheep poo! So not a complete waste then.
Here in France the hunt is more regulated. To have a permis you have to pass a theory and practical exam.

I am so very happy for Jack, Thats my boy Hope you enjoy eating your pheasant....cant fail to with such good company and all youve said about how wonderful Mrs Bears cooking is...dont forget to do the washing up .....
