is a pcp counted as loaded if there is air in the resevoir ?
how do i empty a bsa ultra to transport it if needed ?i know this seems daft and in transport the thing is boxed/bagged/nowt up the spout ,with the mag on my person i can say it is a lump of metal but i may need to explain myself sometime
what is the law re pcp being safe in a public place ?

unloaded can still go bang with the mag out /no round, so ?
google has not been my friend with this ,it all seems a bit confused
tother thing is owt pumped up to 200 bar is energised ,what should i know about such tools ?

can you not unscrew the resovior? so carry 3 peices, the gun the resovior and the mag separately, that way nothing can go bang qiuckly or without some knowledge of how it works.

A charged reservoir would not count as loaded. Loaded refers to being ready to discharge a projectile.

Not only that but if you do completely discharge a PCP & only have a hand pump to fill it you might find you cant get the valve to seal. It takes a sudden increase in pressure to get it to its self hold pressure. If you ever over use it you will have a sudden pressure drop (normaly well after you should have stop shooting). On mine its working range is 80-210 bar. Its best shot range is 100-185bar (all within 3 fps & better accuracy). Below 50 ish bar the pressure will self release. With my hand pump I cant fill it fast enough to get to 50 bar so have to use my dive bottle.

Richard

PS if it has a removable magazine then remove it as well.

It is always sensible to carry the riffle in the gun slip outside of the house, i never take mine out of the slip until i get to where im going to be shooting, that goes for the air riffle and the shotgun.

like been said stick the mag in your pocket or in the pocket on your gun slip if you have one, you dont want to lose it....

Enjoy

Isn't that the law & if it isn't you would be bloody stupid to carry an uncovered weapon in a public place considering how trigger happy the police are these days?

Yep, its the law not to have an uncovered rifle in a public place.

Transporting always have rifle in a slip, the mag out, empty or not it shouldn't be in the rifle when transporting, plus saftey on of course.

according to the rule book,
loaded is a weapon with either a magazine attached(empty or full) or round up the spout.
made ready is a state where you remove safety and pull the trigger and the weapon then discharges a projectile, air under pressure is classed as a projectile.

Can you point me to that rule as mine has a non removeable magazine & to have to discharge the air each time you cross a road on your land is just silly. Its like taking the spring out on a springer.
