Does anyone know any microwave or slow cooker jam/preserving recipes? or websites with some? I collected a load of fruit and was making jams etc yesterday when it went off so now I need another way to carry on with the fruit or would be better freezing it all and then defrosting and using when the gas is sorted?
Thank you

Do you have a bread machine? You can make jam in them, too

Hi
can you tell me how to make jam in a bread machine as I'd like to give it a try. I've looked in the manual but it just gives recipes for bread (no surprise there then ) and cakes - which normally turn out like bricks
Hiya Lisa! I'm sorry I cannot be more helpful - but if your manual doesn't say how to make jam then I am not certain if your machine CAN. Mine has its own programme setting.
I've sometimes wondered about making jam in the bread machine, but as I don't make jam unless I've got at least 3lb (prefereably 4lb or more) of fruit, I think I'd be wasting my time
To be honest, doing jam properly is a lot less time consuming and arduous than you might think; is it really worth economising on time here? You'll reduce the time needed, but your batch size is surely going to be tiny. Why not make really big batches, and make them to last?
My bread maker makes very small amounts of jam (3 cups fruit + 1 cup sugar) so I rarely bother using it and just do it in a pan. Handy when you have a small amount of fruit. Normally ends up about a jar ful
