I am also a seed adict - I spent a happy hour sorting, cataloguing and planning what to plant when and where whith what I had - Then took what I didn't need, duplicates etc to the lower school for their garden.

I went shopping

I still have too many - and still get tempted by the free packets on the front of magazines

T&M poor poor poor germination, and I mistakenly spent two and a bit quid on their wild primrose seed only to discover later that there were only 50 seeds in the pack - one sneeze and they were gone. I keep trying to like T&M cos they're a local company, but it's not happening.

Suttons seem to be foolproof but i don't know what they expect me to do with 2000 carrots. Maybe they know that my friends and family will need them. Next winter I'll try exploring local firms online, and heritage seed companies too.

We were VERY unimpressed with the germination rates for Sarah Raven seeds last year. Also her quantities are quite small. Her catalogue is glossy plant porn, but went straight in the bin after we had a good laugh at the prices. Never again! Now we know she's 'gardening royalty' we think the suppliers give her floor sweepings

Lots of wild seeds need special germination techniques - sometimes it's more economic to buy plants (Hence my expensive Hellibores )

Way too late - have already received my order from them, and from Chiltern Seeds, and bought loads of packets from Wilkinsons, plus the leftovers from last year... yeah, guess I'm a bit of an addict too

Cheers,
Rob.

Ha - I laugh at you all with your pathetic attempts at seed addiction - I have 25 types of tomatoes alone (and I've planted 17 types!)

My seed box started off so well organised - now I open it and it explodes like a Jack-in-a-box - its so full and I keep buying them

Mind you Tahir is the real seed-a-holic - He bought 20 types of leeks once

Only four here this year, but I have got two types of summer squash as well (and marrows). My problem is chillis and tomatoes. 11 varieties of chilli growing on in the greenhouse at the moment. Not sure how many tomato varieties without looking it up in my notes, but at least 8.

ERM....well I've planted two - all green bush and black beauty, but I've got seed for two yellow varieties, a patty pan and a round green one too so that's six!!! Same with squashes...I've quite a choice... but I'm limited on space.

(we didn't like last years yellow courgettes BTW...they look fab, but they just didn't have the flavour, and because of the rain they were prone to blossom end rot - or something nasty like that)

Oh, you just HAD to, didn't you, Kate? I've got enough problems fitting what I've already got into the space available ... and now I want more!!

I need a bigger garden
