No, but there are almost too many environment action groups. They should all just get together and form one massivly powerful world lobby group. Then again that might mean that all the personal agendas have to get sidelined.
You have been quiet lately, are you allright ?
This isn't exactly an action group so much as an organisation that provides small monetary grants and some practical help for people at a local level looking to set up volunteer projects to improve their local environment. I like things like this I not that all their money for this year is loooooonnnnng gone.
Sounds a little bit like the Community Champions Fund idea that the DFES runs, and the Community Choices for Sustainable Living thingy that I am working on with Dorset Agenda 21.
Interestingly, I found something about Action Earth in my local paper yesterday. A school near me has won an award from them in recognition of the work they did on reviving a derelict piece of wasteland on their school grounds and turning it back into a wildlife pond/garden.
My children's school has just such an area - local people can also remember farm animals being kept there (can you imagine the risk assessment on something like that NOWADAYS??? )
Thanks for posting the original link Tahir - it is something I will try and persue. Wish me luck ...
