This morning found four 4 month chickens with throats ripped out. The only entry a 1 - 2 inch ventilation which had been dislodged. Prime suspect = mink
After consultation with the experts ( Thanks Bodge and Cam ) have a couple of traps and cat food waiting for dusk....
Both are live traps and OH works opposite side of country.....

WHAT IF I CATCH ONE?????

Wheres the emoticon for what the hell do I do now???

Just googled. You have to get it shot with a .410 or similar. Not allowed to drown or use chemicals. So I guess you need to have someone to dispatch it straight away, or it would be considered cruel to catch it and keep it for more than a few hours.

Massacre III

Disturbed critter last night but he came back for more.
Walked straight past catfood and fought his way in.
DP - patience hard when critter taking chicken nightly....
Serious measures next.
