At The Plough we have to fill out a time sheet every month. I was wondering if this could be put on a spreadsheet. I presume you'd have a column for each member of staff and a row for each day. Then the variables are x/hour weekday daytimes, y/hour weekdays after 5.30, Saturday daytimes and Sunday daytimes, z/hour Saturday and Sunday evenings. Then I thought it could do it all automagically instead of us all faffing around with calculators. We only need it to provide a gross pay figure 'cos the tax and NI are done by the accountants.

Steady on old chap, you'll be giving up the quill next ...

Wouldn't you want separate columns each variable? So each member of staff has four columns, one for each of your different hourly rates? Then for each month you'd have four sub-totals and a grand-total?

I don't know, that's why I asked.

Is everyone on the same rate (for a given shift?)

I've assumed everyone is on the same rate per hour for a given shift.

Any use?

I'd be happy to prettify it, add the Plough logo, photos of staff, colour codes, etc etc.

Thanks. I'll see how they feel about it. At the moment our pay system is mired in about 1850. There's no chance of modernising it completely but this could be a leap forwards.

It doesn't work, btw. I spotted an error while I went through it in my head, in the bath.

I shall fix!

Think this is a better version.

Bugger. I missed the two different pay rates on Sat and Sun.

You have a version. If they want to use it, let me know, and I can amend.

No idea if I've used copyright pictures, or not.
