We had a bit of a disaster yesterday morning: the lod chap went to do feed and found that something had got in and killed three of our Khaki Campbells. We were away overnight and have just got back to find a KC drake dead and four other ducks missing.

I'm so peed off: just don't need it atm.

Hence: anyone got any spare ducks?

We bought some ducks from someone very near to you only last weekend. Graham Hicks from Waterfowl World. We paid a fiver each for some of his perfectly healthy but possibly mismarked birds.

Oooooooh! Ooooooooh! Mochyn, if you go there, can you ask about hookbills? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?

I am sorry about your ducks - I have saxony eggs coming out of my ears if that is any good to you?

I'd have thought that the mental image should cheer her up a bit at least.

But Graham Hicks's place is just up the road from Mochyn at a place called Silatyn.

I'll have a look at that, Bodge.

Helen: you're not passing this way in the near future, are you? I'm sure I could arrange a meeting at somewhere obscure...

I fact, anyone who can get ducks to me would be most welcome to coffee and cake (I'll even do boiled compost).

I was thinking about what I'd really like: it would be 2 muscovy females, to keep Uri (muscovy drake) company, 3 KC females to go with the other two and their drake, and a trio of Aylesburys. That's only the dream scenario though: I never end up with exactly what I'd like, but I love all the ducks anyway.

Sorry, Lorraine: its tea. I can't bear the smell and as a result it's known as that in this house.
