Growing conditions and then storage are key for all Onions. Ideally you should grow them on until the tops fall over and dry out! We got Onion rot 3 years ago and have had to grow them in raised box ... |

Susan's say try Red Brunswick from Justseed (of course Unwins, Fothergills etc all do them too). They also do a red bunching onion.

Try planting small amounts of most things (try the allotment or small packs from www.justseed.com) to see what grows best where! Otherwise you get gluts of things and lose heart.

Little and often as it quite hot - don't use it direct on veg as it burns them to a crisp ! We have ours on shaving so the wood bit needs to compost too. 3 months in summer, 6 in winter.

Try going on www.justseed.com they seem to have http://www.justseed.com/seeds/catalogsearch/result/?q=bulk+ of most things and if not they'll get them for you. Just ask for Nick.
