Think I've solved my probelm! I need to use glass rope lagging which has a central core and is far more robust. Found a supplier in the south of England |

Our woods are mainly silver birch- it's great in the logburner where you can control the air intake. |

We are having some new internal doors fitted- pine. Is it better to oil them than use a water based varnish. I'm not very neat at painting. Will the wood darken more after oiling than varnishing? |

We don't seem to have that problem, but our water pressure is high so I'm guessing that prevents it.

Good point. It's 13 years old. Sill too efficient to warrant changing it according to our local boiler man. |

We made marshmallow last week. It was really soft to start with but after keeping it a few days it developed a nice crust on the outside. It was a huge hit with the children. |
