Been out on Sunday to check who's alive and who's shrugged off the mortal coil. Here at home both my Cornish black bees have survived, so they've been fed. The small weak colony that made it through last winter but never really thrived has dies so Ive removed the hive to dismantle and clean.
Down at St Kew where we had the really strong wild colony some varmint has got in and munched through the colony! They are all dead so another hive to clean.
Ive taken a higher stand down there, had a chat with the land owner and hope to try and prevent with mosuseguards and strapping the hive. lesson learnt.
