Waitrose Organic Sevilles - 1.79/kg.
On a special display with Jam Sugar. Nice idea, I thought.

Does make you wonder how far the supermarkets still cater (seasonally) for people who make their own foods.

I had to ask the local Somerfield last year for Sevilles, and remind them that now was the time for making marmalade, this being a rural area where a lot of people still do.

I had a similar thing with them about whether they were continuing to stock a) large tins of Golden Syrup and b) any tins of Black Treacle, on the grounds that during the summer, every agri show has a Gingerbread category.

Showing as 1.74 a kilo this morning in the same place where I bought them for 1.50 a couple of weeks ago...

On the subject of supermarkets, last year my local Somerfields had them - I didn't check when I was in at the weekend, but I did see that all the 2 kilo bags of sugar had sold out, which I'd think might be related?

Thanks for that my dear, but I don't live in Spain (sadly), I happened to be there for Christmas with my sister She was upset that less than 100 miles from Seville, she couldn't buy seville oranges in any of the local shops/supermarkets. They all get exported.

Oh sod it, that's what it is... I saw on the news the other night that siz weeks ago it was 1 = 1.7 Euro and now it is 1 = 1.3 Euro which of course makes a huge difference. There goes any thought of a nice cheap trip to France in the next few months...
