January is always slow & money tight after Christmas, so order a half pig through www.rosewoodfarms.co.uk/shop & get 50% off (55 exclusive to DS customers* in January) + delivery (Free, 5 or 10, depending upon destination, via next day courier).

Pure rare breeds & rare breed crosses available, GM free locally grown home mixed diet. Butchered as required. Place your order early to avoid disappointment. Delivery throughout February & March as required.

*Open to Downsizer members with a post count of fifty or more

Edit: 22kg is the maximum weight I can send per parcel.

No, not unless you're going to drop some off on the way past.

The courier still works out cheaper than a tunnel.

Needs must when the devil drives the price down. A customer has gone out of business so we have a few extras , and January is usually a tumbleweed moment round here anyway.

Between 1 & 1.5 litres per kg depending how it is cut, or two to three freezer draws for a half.

You could salt it in to ham and hang it up somewhere ... no freezer needed.

Rob- is it frozen? if so, can you make air-dried ham from frozen meat?

I've just taken our latest air-dried (Gloucester old spot) out of the salt box, very tempted to try another breed....

I've become obsessed with preserving meat without a freezer. Everyone has to have a hobby .
