I tend to use one or the other, otherwise you get a wine that is too heavy and prone to the ferment sticking.
With elderflower, you don't want it to end up too heavy and cloying.
I find it works well as a light, dry wine.

OK, I've got my five pints of elderflowers. Just off to the shops for 5l of grape juice and 7 lemons to add to the 8 I already have.

B*ll*cks, Sainsburys don't sell white grape juice unless it is mixed with peach or already fermented! Raisins it is then.

I've blended strawberry and elderflower wines together at bottling stage in the past, and the result (after a few months in the bottle) was good. I'm not that big a fan of elderflower wine, but blending with fruit works wonders. I've made a lovely dried apricot and elderflower before.
