As some of you know I live on a big holiday park in the New Forest and we're having a slight problem with a bunny or two.
We have approximately 100 acres and 8000 bunnies and the boss thinks this is a bit of a problem.
I cant shoot them fast enough and I certainly cant eat them fast enough either so the boss and I had a chat and came up with this

Free Accomodation for the weekend (Self Catering) for all those with ferrets, nets, air rifles ( sorry but nothing bigger) to come and help us with this problem.

Most of the bunnies live under chalets so no lost ferrets cos the floorboards can be taken up if needs be. Net around chalet, stick ferrets in, job done.
You can do what you want with the bunnies ie sell them to your local butcher, eat them, whatever floats your boat.

Anyone who is less experienced is more than welcome to come along cos there will be plenty of people here to help with anything you may need.

Numbers are limited.

I'm arranging this for sometime in January, so if you want to get away for the weekend let me know. Come and see us before we go to sunnier climes.

Blimey, excellent offer, shame I won't have the time and can't shoot.

I'd also suggest anyone with an air rifle is a member of BASC (or can show insurance).

I have an air rifle and may bring it but Bugs and I would love to watch/help etc anyone who ferrets/nets etc. I'd also love to bring back a freezer's worth of bunnies.

We could pick two people up from Surrey if anyone needs a lift.

I'd love to come but don't have an air rifle anymore ( I suppose I could ask around) I guess with ferrets around you wouldn't want snaring to be used?

If you get too many offers and cannot accommodate everyone, I may have some spare space by that time of the year - foreign language students permitting - so could put a couple of people up for the night - we live not too far away from you ...

I've got a friend who would be keen too. He has an air rifle we could share.

I am sure I could find more responsible bushcrafters if you need to increase the numbers - They have a wide variety of dispatch and capture methods - from rabbit sticks to snares to Harris Hawks! They'd probably be happiest sleeping in Hammocks or bivvy bags too, so no need for accomodation. Anyway I haven't suggested it to anyone - will wait to see what your numbers and requirements are.

I might be interested if it were mid-January (not the first week after Hogmanay), and I have a farm visit / lecture week at college towards the end of the month.

Have air rifle, but not a BASC member. Is that OK ?

Weather might be a bit brisk for tents. Chalet accommodation ?

Sounds cool.
I live close enough not to need accomodation, but I would need to be shown how to dispatch and prep the bunnies properly!
