I've got some photos I'll put up later, if I can get my phone to talk to the computer ... . Everyone is covered in flour. All the surfaces are covered with a thin film of honey and ginger. And Snipe is eating the spilled flour off the floor ... . A great afternoon

@ chez : just as well you didn;t make my recipe, because it turns out cake-like, and you cut it in squares.

Gingerbread that you can also cut into shapes and hang on the tree sounds much more useful.

Gingerbread biscuits 2, The Reprise, coming to our kitchen later on. I KNEW I'd written the recipe down somewhere

Thought about suggesting here but The Plough's timeline is odd enough anyway.

Until I got to the pics I thought it was all this year! We use Sarah Raven's recipe, which has I think ground almonds and hazelnuts in. It’s yummy but the children go nuts with the icing, and they get too heavy to hang on the tree. They do make good houses, though.

I had a siezure, so Bibbster made them with them yesterday afternoon - I will take a pic of children and biscuits when they get back from school.

@sean I cross-posted to here once I'd found it again and then lay awake all night worrying that I'd conflated my different personalities
