Hi
Has anyone ever grown truffles in their garden. I recently saw tree seedlings for sale inprenated with the truffle fungus. They say its takes 4-5 years to come into season but they are pricey 40 a tree. I am not convinced this is a bit of a scam as it seems a lot of money and an awfully long wait. Has anyone bought one and had success? I live in worcestershire and am not sure this is too far north for them.

Thanks
Paul

There was a programme where someone has planted several acres of truffle trees. I thing they are about 5 years old and he was expecting a harvest after about 7 years.

If you shop around you should be able to get them for about 15.

Does anyone know if you can plant one truffle tree and a few normal trees would the fungus spread?

Thanks for the reply. I have heard that it will spread naturally. I guess it could be a great project but I need to make sure I aint gonna move !!
