Naturenet Editor Matthew Chatfield, Countryside Manager for the Isle of Wight Council writes: "When I first started using the Internet, I naturally looked for something about rangers and conservation. To my surprise, there was nothing relevant to this country at all. So I started Naturenet, which has been going since 1995. It is an ongoing magazine of information which I find useful myself, and for others to find out about practical conservation in this country."
I've only come across it today, but it looks like there is a lot of useful information on there and it was last updated July 2005 so seems alive and well which is good to see!
For example main sections include:
Countryside law
Trees and hedgrows
Careers and training
Planning and development control
which can be rather dry but this seems at a brief glance to be a good combination of fact and personal points of view...it's on my bookmarks now (not just because it has a really cute favourites icon )
