i am new too fishing on rivers and i was wondering if there is a fishing season. if so when does it start and finish? thankyou

thanks gil but i was really wondering about the rivers and canals for course fish. ive tried to look on google but i cant find an exact opening and closing date.

At a guess, close season for coarse fishing is march 16th to june 16th.

There's no close season on canals and still waters apparently.

Oh yeah, just googled that. Seems like it was removed around 2001 after studeis showed no adverse impact on stocks.

You guessed right, the glorious 16th, I used to fish it what ever, but don't seem to have the time any more.
