Has anyone come across this piece of news / situation before now, or know any more of the details ?

It was on our local news last night.

The farmer just wants to provide cheap accommodation for, and these are his words, poorer people who wish to live in the countryside. The countryside shouldn't be for the rich only.

He's not had permission from the local council to build them, so they have told him he has to pull them down.

Good Lord, we can't have poorer people living in the Lake District !
Make them live in Barrow, Workington, and Cleator Moor.

You'd need planning permission for a barrow.

ETA and a change of use if it was a long barrow.
