A few recent threads have contained personal insults which have overstepped the line of what is acceptable on the forum.

Rather than just banning people, it would be better if it just stopped happening, so lets draw a line under it now.

However, if anyone personally insults another member from now on, their membership of the forum will have to be suspended. It's not something we as mods want to do, so please exercise restraint when posting in heated debates.

Thanks

Great. Can you define what one is please? Some people seem to think very different things about what constitutes one.

Then maybe people should make every effort to steer well to the decent pleasant side of the line!

mods while you are at it can you deal with the nasty anti cat stuff that people think it is ok to post on here.I have considered just not participate in the forum anymore because it is so horrid.Theres plenty I could say about dogs and children both of which have mounted unprovoked attacks on my person in the past. Theres plenty I could say about the environmental impact that we all have on the planet
I try to post in a civilised manner to the rule that Whatever I type I would say to you face to face so personal insults and ill thought out rants are out.
Please lets just have a bit of respect about the place

I think I'd echo what BB has said and ask for some clarification. I've had some pretty full on stuff said to me over the last couple of weeks. I'm assuming (hopefully) that it's being dealt with behind the scenes but it does seem to be that if you're a regular then you can get away with a lot more personal stuff.

Line drawn, I've just realised the thread in question is one that I've ignored.

Seriously, unless you have some clearcut examples of what constitutes a personal insult people will continue. Just saying 'be nice' is way too waffly and vague.

It's clearly not working though Give some examples of what's considered a personal insult. The person who has been virtually stalking me seems to think that all manner of personal comments are ok.

Rather like football, isn't it? Play the ball, not the player.
